Dear Valued Customer:

Subject: NAI RoHs Position

As you are aware, the global electronics industry is moving towards lead free solder and lead free electronics in order to meet several objectives, including an obligation to comply with the evolving environmental regulations. The scope and timing of this transition is strongly influenced by a European Union initiative which directs EU Member Countries to insure that, from July1, 2006, new electrical and electronic equipment for the commercial industries put on the market does not contain certain hazardous materials, such as lead.

Currently our products are considered Monitoring and Control Equipment. Although it is possible to use this equipment in other applications, the principle usage as well as the intended usage is for monitoring and control. This classification currently provides an exemption from the RoHs compliance deadline.

Even with the RoHs exemption, North Atlantic Industries endorses design for the environment and supports the broad goal of eliminating hazards from lead in our products offered in the industry. There is a consensus within the Aerospace, Military and Defense industries that there are many unanswered questions regarding the lead free solder in these product applications.

At this point, based on the exemption for Measuring and Control Equipment and our commitment to quality, North Atlantic Industries products will contain lead (PB) components where available and will utilize Lead (PB) in our soldering and re-flow processes to maintain product reliability.

North Atlantic is absolutely committed to ensuring that its products avoid defects in performance, safety and reliability. Therefore, North Atlantic reminds our customers that based on these objectives, we will continue to monitor and participate in the development of lead free technology, tests, validations and standards for monitoring and control equipment for Aerospace, Military and Defense applications. We expect this situation to continue to evolve and we will update our progress and our position, as lead free technology advances and matures. It is critical that we position our business to migrate away from lead contained technology as it is validated and new technologies emerge.

Sincerely

Roger Maurizio
